medQ and LogicNets announce partnership to provide CDS to joint customers

Plano, Texas and Washington DC– Healthcare and enterprise imaging workflow systems provider medQ, Inc.  announces it has teamed with LogicNets, an approved Clinical Decision Support Mechanism (CDSM) vendor, to provide an Appropriate Use Criteria (AUC) software solution fully integrated into Q/ris 3000 enterprise imaging software. This program will be generally available in early 2018.

CMS (Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services) requires that selected clinical indications representing an initial eight clinical priority areas must go through a formal process to be validated against evidence-based AUCs to assist ordering physicians and other providers in selecting the most appropriate imaging procedure\.  If this protocol is not used by accessing CMS-approved AUC solutions, CMS will not reimburse doctors for the work done.  CMS is also incenting use of this technology through a MIPS credit program.

Working with LogicNets, medQ has integrated a complete AUC solution into their ordering physician protocols and embedded this protocol in their Q/ris 3000 enterprise imaging software and physician’s web portal.  This integration automates the decision process and makes it easy for physicians to use the new feature either on line or via the imaging center. All the proper authorization numbers are automatically recorded and then seamlessly sent to billing for prompt and accurate reimbursement. The feature can work in a “silent” mode, automatically validating a proposed treatment from patient record information or it can be used in an interactive mode to guide ordering professionals through diagnostics pathways and to access contextual references and clinical aids.

medQ,Inc., headquartered in Plano, Texas, provides radiology information technology and enterprise imaging solutions that enable healthcare providers to deliver quality, cost effective patient care.

LogicNets is a Washington DC-based software developer and provider of the LogicNets Decision Support Platform.  LogicNets allows critical decision-making processes to be efficiently captured by qualified knowledge organizations and then makes resulting electronic protocols and guidelines available online and on-demand to both systems and interactive users.  LogicNets is a CMS-qualified Clinical Decision Support Mechanism (CDSM) and provides a complete AUC solution for radiology under PAMA based on partnerships with Intermountain Health, NCCN, ACC, and other CMS-qualified PLE providers of AUC content.
